What to Expect on Your First Visit with Our Office:

Whether this is your first visit to the dentist, first visit to the dentist in a few years, or you are switching dental offices most of us are not totally sure what to expect you your first visit.  We wanted to walk you through everything to expect;

  1. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment so that you have time to complete our health history form.
  2. At the first visit you will have an opportunity to meet the entire dental team.  Our front office manager will meet and greet you.  One of our dental assistants will bring you back, seat you, and take a set of full mouth x-rays.  Our hygienist will review the x-rays and check the health of your gums.  Our dentist will review the x-rays with you and take a look at the health of your teeth and gums.  The dentist and hygienist will discuss any treatment needed with you.
  3. Finally, the office manager will review with you what your cost will be for the treatment, what your insurance will cover, and then will schedule you to start your treatment.

On your first visit with our office, we do not typically do the cleaning.  There are many reasons why;

  1. We want to take a full diagnosis of your overall oral health.  We want to address and emergencies, issues of pain, and provide you with the best level of care.
  2. There are many different types of cleanings.  Before we see you, we do not know what type you will need.  To learn more about the different types of cleanings click here.
  3. We want to spend time with you, fully examine everything going on, and make sure that we spend enough time with you to explain it to you.  Our goal is for you to understand your dental needs and spend time explaining it so you are fully educated and trust the treatment being recommended.\

If we can still fit you in for a cleaning at the same visit we will.  We want to make your visit as pleasant as possible and we respect that you have a very busy schedule.  If you have any questions, please contact our office and we would be glad to assist you.
